Welcome

    Apologies to all those of you who have been waiting for a
    version of Windev compatible with the March NT Beta, but
    Microsoft only started shipping NT in the UK after Easter.
    The good news is that programs should now be binary compatible
    with the retail NT release.  Now you've realised how much you
    depend on Windev, please register your copy.

    Helios Software Solutions is an approved vendor and associate
    member of the Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP), so
    you can rest assured that Windev is a high quality product.
    See the on-line help for information about the ASP, and for
    registration fees, which can now be paid with credit cards
    and through CompuServe's online registration service.

    You may be interested to know that a version for Windows 3.1 is
    also available in library 2 (File Utilities) of the WINADV forum
    on CompuServe.

Minimum Hardware and Software Requirements

    For this release for Microsoft (R) Windows NT (TM), a 386 PC
    running the March 1993 Beta Win32 Software Development Kit.
    To install Windev you require about 563 KB of free disk space.

Installation Instructions

    1) Change drive to the installation disk (eg. A:)
    2) Type "INSTALL destination-directory"
	where <destination-directory> is the full path to
	the directory below which the WINDEV installation
	directory will be created. Do not type a trailing
	'\'.  (eg. INSTALL C: or INSTALL C:\UTILS)
    3) Read LICENSE.TXT in the WINDEV subdirectory to the
	directory specified in step 2.  If you agree to
	the terms, continue...
    4) Use Program Manager to add WINDEV.EXE to one of
	your program groups.
    5) Try WINDEV and see how much more productive it
	makes you!

* This file will be installed in your windows system directory
  if it does not exist.

Known Limitations of this Release of Windev for NT:

- The Search/Find and File/Print commands have not been implemented
    for hex file views.
- UNICODE text is not supported.
